Gate Keepers

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Word "Gate Keeper" just "Echoed in my Spirit!"

I immediately remembered this picture that was taken in my newest "New Chapter Photo Shoot" and thought about how this picture was so appropriate for the following short teaching.

I want to remind you today that "WE" are a "GATE KEEPERS!" Spiritually Speaking - Whatever "We" do will "Open the Gates for Blessings or Curses in our Lives!" God has given "All of Us" a responsibility to uphold "Kingdom Principles and Standards" - Please remember the "Choices and Actions" we make will affect us positively or negatively!

We must uphold "Godly Principles" if we truly want to see the "Blessings of the Kingdom to Over-Take us!"  Remember the "Church is not a Company" - But a "Governing Body of Spiritual Beings" created by God with "His Spiritual Laws" that Do Not Change!

"GATE KEEPER" - Do we each really realize the true meaning of the word, term and what it means in a spiritual context?

In Biblical Symbolism - "Gates" were very important and installed at the city entrance and were also used to guard castles. Typically, they were built as a defense with towers. You are a doorway, or portal, that allows entrance into a city, palace or stronghold of dominion. Gate is the synonym for portal. A portal is a gate, a fountain, causeway or course – meaning: track or causeway.

The definition of Gatekeeper is:

One - that is in charge of passage through a gate. One who monitors or oversees the actions of others. A Gatekeeper is one who has the authority or the ability to control access to a decision maker or to access certain information.

The mind and thought pattern is connected to your inner spirit man, who entertains the processes of the heart.

“For as a man thinks within himself, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart and those things defile the man.” (Matthew 15:18)

Your current existence can change or remain the same by the thought patterns of your mind. As a Gatekeeper, you are the door/portal keeper of what enters into your thoughts and what you release out of your mouth. Proverbs specifically speaks of the power of our tongues.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)

Again, what we speak has been designed in the “Patterns of our Thoughts” - out of the condition of our heart.

We must understand that God has designed us as Gatekeepers for His divine purpose and not for ours, but in order to understand and comprehend the ways of our God, we must limit the echoing patterns of the world and focus on the thoughts of the Spirit of God. When we do this, we will then have a peace of mind and a divine clarity in regards to the assignment God has placed upon our lives.

Most live their lives in the past, as a reflection from the way they have been raised up from their family’s “Life” patterns. Most people go to a service on Sunday because it was something ingrained within them as a child growing up. Yet sadly, for most the purpose behind it is oblivious. In our society, the thought pattern is: “It’s a “Religious” thing to do that eases the conscious.”

The word of God speaks clearly:

“Having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”  (2 Timothy 3:5)

There are so many seeker-friendly churches in today’s society. The thought pattern has been to bring people into a place of comfort, yet deny them the availability to experience the supernatural power of God personally in a corporate setting. It’s easier that way.

The "Pastoral Gatekeeper" doesn’t want to offend the people and would rather give a watered down message.

So, most people come to the church service, because of engrained patterns - needing restoration and cleansing. They hear a good sermon, are entertained, have a moment of gratification and leave the same. Instruction is limited and their understanding of why they are dealing with specific issues, as it relates to themselves and their own thought patterns is not given.

When service is over, most leave still confused and unsure of who they are in God and who they are to become.

When looking at the gatekeepers of the Book of Acts, we see there was a difference in approach:

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”  (Acts 2: 1- 3)

You must understand, heaven has a sound, and as Gatekeepers of our God, it is our responsibility to hear that sound –thus bringing heaven into the earth realm. When the “Suddenly” happened in Acts, all who were together in one place, in one mind and one accord were changed!

Those who had gathered were gatekeepers of the power of God being introduced into the earth realm! They waited and were obedient to do as our Master Jesus instructed:

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)

Their ability to come into one place with purpose, follow through with the instruction of Jesus and have the understanding that their obedience of heartfelt worship would usher in the Holy Spirit - created a gateway, portal and entrance way for the Spirit of God to be ushered in.

Still today, we are Gatekeepers! What we do, say, think and act upon outwardly, can effect what God has designed to do through us to be released or held up. As you understand your assignment and guard what comes into your soul, keeping yourself pure – You are now a portal for God to use and work through.

The Sound of Heaven is being missed today because the Gatekeepers have allowed the divine process of Father God to be infiltrated by many sounds, images and chaos of the world scene - Thus, bringing about; a muted sound, the lack of unity and supernatural moving of the Spirit of God in our lives personally and corporately.

What we think, we are! What we allow ourselves to digest through the spiritual gates that have been given to us by God we will become! “We” are Gatekeepers! As people of purpose it is our responsibility to guard our hearts from anything that would terrorize the assignment on our lives from the “Divine!”

From Genesis - in the “Garden of Eden” until now, the enemy of our souls has continued with one mission; to hinder the plan and will, purpose and strategy of God through us in the earth realm. The enemy does this through our “Processes.”

The moment Adam and Eve were disobedient, they saw themselves and the plan of God was blurred. Flesh took precedence over all that was known before - as it relates to God’s character, His beauty and divine glory.

Still today the enemy does his part in blurring the purpose of God through us as God’s heirs and ambassadors.

Today You must understand and apply this short but direct teaching and principles to your lives, in turn allowing God “Complete-Access” again, so the Great “I AM” can heal you, restore you and complete His designed plan that will be manifested through your life.

Guard your ways, your will and your wants - so that God’s ways, God’s will and God’s wants are established in, around and through your life.

Never forget who you are! “You” are His Design, His perfection and His Masterpiece – As a Gatekeeper you must not allow access to anyone, anything or want that will tamper with the design of the most high concerning you. You are too important and precious to Him. He has invested much in you - Be the Gatekeeper He has entrusted you to be so that “His Purpose” is released through you.

Blessings to You today and Always  - “Gate Keepers,”

Dr. Brett Watson
